Description:
In this class, the student will be learning about the geography, history, governments, and economics of these locations: Europe and Russia, Australia, Canada, and Latin America (Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, and South America).
Expectations:
At the end of each unit, the student should be familiar with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) for Social Studies.
- Locate on a map the major physical and political features of the unit and explain the culture of the unit.
- Discuss the main ideas of the history of the unit along with the conflicts and changes that have occurred there.
- Compare and contrast the various governments of the unit and explain how citizens are allowed to participate in their government.
- Analyze different economic systems of the unit and explain how these different economic systems in the various units work together to form a global world.
Requirements:
- Attend and participate in class regularly.
- Follow directions. Once in class, write in agenda. Students are to be seated before the tardy bell rings.
- Display a positive attitude. Respect yourself and others.
- Come to class prepared. Have the proper materials.
- Ask questions when needed.
- Use the restroom before or after class---not during class.

Make-up Work:
- Students are responsible for obtaining any missed assignment and turning it into the teacher.
Grades:
- Classwork = 25%
- Homework = 35%
- Test = 40%
